Author and Coach, Brandon Jenkins, pictured with cherry blossoms in the background. He writes about following your own script.

Are you living someone else’s script for your life?

Here is another example of the golden path fallacy.

Sound familiar…?

  • Graduate high school, go to college, then get a job.
  • Climb the corporate ladder, max out retirement accounts, retire at 60, and then start living.

If you’re doing all that 👆 because it aligns with what truly matters to you, then hell yeah!

But if you’re chugging along and following that script because you think you’re supposed to be on that path…

I was chugging along for about 15 years after college.

I enjoyed what I was doing, but I couldn’t have articulated how it aligned with my Blueprint.

I reached a point where I had to gain more clarity, so:

  • I hired a coach.
  • We uncovered what matters most to me.
  • I began to make decisions in line with what we uncovered.

Notice I said, “uncovered.”

My coach didn’t tell me anything; rather, she helped me see.

Wish I would’ve done it a lot sooner.

Align your work with the life you want, not the other way around. Don’t follow someone else’s script.

Are you chugging along, or are you intentionally carving the path you’re meant to be on?
