Coach Brandon Jenkins is pictured wearing a tan hat and smiling. He writes about leaders coming to coaching.

Most leaders don’t come to coaching because
things are falling apart.

They come because even though things are working,
they’re not working as well as they could.

They’re competent. Trusted. Respected.
And still, something feels off.

Not urgent.
Not dramatic.
Just persistent.

• The role feels heavier than expected
• Decisions take more energy than they used to
• They’re doing good work, but not always the right work
• They sense a shift is required but haven’t named it yet

This is the stage most leaders ignore.

Because nothing is “wrong enough.”

But this is often the most important moment to slow
down and examine what’s really driving their decisions.

Not to stop leading, but to get clearer on:

• what actually matters to them now
• what this role uniquely requires of them
• what work is theirs to carry, and what isn’t

This is where I spend most of my time with leaders.

Helping them clarify:

• values, passions, strengths, purpose
• assumptions shaping how they lead
• how they’re uniquely meant to show up for their teams

Clarity doesn’t come from pushing harder here.

It comes from seeing yourself more clearly.

If you recognize this moment in your own leadership,
you’re not behind.

You’re right on time.

And this is exactly the kind of work I love to do.

Let’s continue the conversation.
